John Willemse's formal training began in the conservatory program at Purchase College, State University of New York. Purchase School of Art and Design is one of the preeminent undergraduate BFA programs in the country. There, he built a strong foundation of keen visual and mechanical skills, as well as conceptual theory. Later, John went on to receive two degrees in the field of the Arts; an Associate degree in Graphic Design in 2009 from Rockland Community College, and most recently a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Art Education from The State University of New Paltz. Currently, John holds state certification in Art Education within New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
